According to The Courant, warehouse stores are now accepting foodstamps.
“Current events changed our mind. We started getting letters from people: ‘I’ve been self-supporting with a small business for years and this last year just about wiped me out. Now I’m using food stamps and I wish I could use them at Costco,'” Benoliel said.
Costco will begin accepting food stamps at its five Connecticut warehouse stores. Those stores, in Enfield, Brookfield, Norwalk, Waterbury and Milford, should be equipped to accept food stamps by the end of December, possibly earlier.
This begs the question, though, how many stamps does it take to buy a 36 pack of mac and cheese?
