All About: Andover

We don't know WTF this is, but it was on a site about Andover.

Population: About 3,000

County: Tolland

Size: 15.7 square miles

History: Apparently the town was started by an Ecclesiastical Society in 1848, and was the 146th official town in Connecticut.

Something Weird: Most of Andover’s history sounds like the rest of Eastern CT’s. The Nipmucs got killed by the Pequots. The Pequots fought amongst themselves. White people came. Now there are casinos.

I couldn’t find a single interesting story about Andover on either The Courant’s site, or The Journal Inquirer’s. I couldn’t find a haunted house, or a weird group of frog people. I guess that’s what happens when there are only about 3,000 people in your 15 square mile town. The closest thing I could come up with to an interesting fact is that Route 6, one of the world’s deadliest two-lane highways, runs through it…but it also runs through a lot of other towns. So…yeah…
