While the The Connecticut Economy, the University of Connecticut’s Quarterly Review says it’s because our state is filled with old, rich people and we were all snowed in for most of the winter, I have some other thoughts. I would also like to attribute our failure to die in highway crashes to an abundance of Volvos, Saabs, and Subarus.
Volvos are built to withstand the impact of a moose. Saabs too. Subarus, as we all know, come with standard AWD. Thanks to preppies, hippies, and lesbians, our roads are packed bumper to bumper with these cars. (Just check out I95 any time between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.) So rest easy, CT, your highways are safe.
