History: Wikipedia calls New London an “old and scruffy city.” I think that sums it up pretty nicely. But since it’s got such a rich history I figure we should address it. Apparently its got one of the best deep harbors in Long Island Sound, which led to it being the base of naval operations during the Revolutionary War…and probably why all those submarines are still there. On my cousin’s birthday in 1781 the Battle of Groton Heights (sounds like the bad musical) took place, and Norwich native and douchebag extraordinaire, Benedict Arnold, attempted to destroy the colonial privateer fleet. A whole bunch of other stuff happened…but I’m already bored.

Something Weird: Hipsters.
