Do you have plans October 21-23? Cancel them! THERE IS A GILMORE GIRLS FAN FEST COMING TO CONNECTICUT THAT WEEKEND!
Actually, if you don’t already have tickets, you’re kinda SOL because it’s already sold out (I’m sure there’s already a thriving underground scalping ring specifically for these tickets…and it’s run by Kirk) but that doesn’t dampen my excitement in the least, because bringing the Gilmore Girls Fan Fest to the town that started it all is Paris Gellar-level fabulous!
For those of you who don’t know the legend of the Gilmore Girls (who are you? crawl out from under your rock!), it is said that the show came about after Amy Sherman-Palladino visited tiny Washington Depot, CT and the charming Mayflower Inn. And a literal genius has finally figured out how to bring a fan festival to the streets of the real Stars Hollow.
Jennie Whitaker was stuck in traffic in Connecticut (been there!) when she decided it would be more fun to go off the beaten track and visit “Stars Hollow” than to continue sitting in traffic. And before you know it, she was organizing a fan festival that will include a town troubadour, tea at the Mayflower, a cake tasting, and KELLY FREAKING BISHOP! There will also be an appearance by The Gilmore Guys (who are apparently trying to appease me for never having had a live show in CT).
Anyway, you know we had to talk to the genius behind the greatest thing to happen to Connecticut since Mark Twain. Stay tuned for that conversation!
